September 5, 2025

Bali is a famous destination for travelers from all over the world. According to Road Genius Bali welcomed 6.3 million international tourists in 2024. This is of course amazing but it can be challenging if you don’t know where to go to avoid the tourist mass. A more conscious and slow travel will allow you to really connect with Bali, its culture and nature. Yes, Bali is so much more than beautiful beaches and clubs!

While most travelers flock to the same popular beaches, at our best Surf & Yoga Camp Bali we offer the perfect opportunity to explore the island’s hidden gems.

Here we will share with you 5 Bali’s hidden gems that you will not find on a usual travel guide. Those places are mostly unknown and they still keep the authenticity of the island. Write them down for your next Bali trip.

Hidden Gem 1:  Seseh Beach

Seseh Beach is a beautiful and still very quiet beach just 10 minutes from Canggu and 5 minutes from Munggu where our Surf Camp Bali is.

This beach is perfect for quiet walking and sunset watching. There is also a very cute bar called “Pantai Warung” (Warung in Indonesian means a small, family-owned café or shop)

The vibes here during sunset time are magical. The beach is one of the nicest around Badung area and is definitely much more quiet than Canggu, Kuta or Uluwatu. You can also try surfing here, depending on the wave condition. It is a good spot for beginner surf lessons.

Hidden Gem 2: Balian Beach

This is another beautiful beach, a bit further away, around 1 hour and a half from Canggu, but is definitely worth a visit. Imagine a boho vibe, surfers from all around the world, just few people around and some nice cafes facing the sea. That’s a perfect spot for any surfer who wants to avoid the crowd.

Hidden Gem 3: Jatiluwih Rice Terraces

Forget the crowded rice terrace in Ubud, the Jatiluwih Rice Terraces in Bali are a UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized for their cultural and natural importance. Even though it’s becoming more popular year after year, it is still a quiet and less known place to visit during your trip to Bali. At Kavo Maison Surf & Yoga Camp we offer weekend excursions to it as it is just about a 1 hour drive.

Hidden Gem 4: Nyang Nyang Beach

This is a stunning hidden beach on the South of the island. To reach it you will have to do a short walk but it is definitely worth it. The nature there is wild, the ocean is crystal blue and is perfect if you want to disconnect and recharge.

Hidden Gem 5: Sing Sing Angin Waterfall

This stunning waterfall is in the middle of the nature of the Tabanan area. This area is not much known and for this reason is one of our favourite places to recharge in Bali. With its beautiful nature, the waterfalls and the view of the mountains is the perfect place for a day’s escape. Sing Sing Angin Waterfall feels like a secret garden. The sound of rushing water echoes through the jungle, making it a magical spot far from the crowds. Around the waterfall you will also be able to do a little walk in the ricefields. Tabanan is only 40-50 min drive from Kavo Maison our surf and yoga retreat Bali.
